When I found this antique quartz crystal Eye of Horus, I knew I would have to make something really interesting with it! It’s a wonderful old carving with great detail and character, and I have strung it with the classic Egyptian combination of lapis and carnelian. The stone beads on this necklace are ancient, in many shapes and shades, and their complementary colours of orange and blue are often seen in jewelry and art from ancient Egypt.
Following the Egyptian theme, I created silver drops in the shape of waterlilies, also beloved by the Egyptians, as they represented rebirth, new life, and the dreamlike vision that sees both the physical and spiritual worlds, much like the sacred Eye of the pendant. The silver spacers are antique, and the necklace closes with my signature serpent hook clasp.
